Marek Sobocinski was born in Poland in 1948

and has lived in Norway since 1984.

  • MA equivalent in sculpting and in art didactics

  • Associate Professor at Arts & Crafts Department, Tromsø University College

 

 

Education:

  • 1984-1985 Faculty of Sculpture at Statens Kunstakademi, Oslo, Norway

  • 1972-1977 Chair of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts at

                       Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun, Poland

 

Professional Experience:

  • work experience as freelanced sculptor and art teacher

  • participation in exhibitions and open-air seminars

  • designing decor for buildings and public spaces

  • teaching experience in various educational institutions: primary and secondary schools; colleges and universities; private art studios

  • specialisation in sculpting techniques and utilisation of various materials in artistic enterprises

 

Special Interests:

Both in artistic enterprises and in art teaching the pivotal place is occupied by the concern for the specificity of three-dimensional forms and their reception.

 

Additional Achievements:

  • author of a course book “Form”  for Art secondary schools published in 1997
